Cheryl Hanna Actively Promoting Cruelty to Horses: Here's the Proof!

  • Bear with me here, folks.... this is a very lengthy thread from Mary Gellar's (a pseudonym) wall decrying the inhumane treatment of the Saddlebred gelding pictured below by AC4h when he was in the broker lot two years ago, in November 2011, but as you will see from the remarks by Cheryl Hanna, AC4h's publicity and marketing director,  she is acting as if nothing is wrong here and actually makes exceedingly flimsy excuses for the callous treatment he is clearly being subjected to in the photo. She even goes so far as to claim that he has a "birth defect" when she has absolutely no idea what she's talking about,  given the fact she doesn't know his history or even his age. She is also exhibiting a definite lack of knowledge, or should we say, "horse sense" about equines in general.

She claims, ad nauseam, that she and her fellow associates are all about the horses' welfare while they are being peddled by their demigoddess Christy Sheidy, founder of Another Chance 4 Horses aka "Another Chance 4 Horror" which is how many of us on the other side of the pasture perceive her "rescue".  However,  Cheryl, by her comments, is blatantly exhibiting her lack of compassion for this particular animal, who is clearly emaciated and struggling under the weight of his rider. Too, it is apparent that he is ill, with snot dripping from his nostrils in the photo.

Ms. Hanna is supposed to be acting as a professional representative of a 501c3 nonprofit organization, yet as evidenced in a number of her responses to some of the people commenting in the thread, she clearly is not doing so, instead resorting to namecalling and insults in an extremely rude, snippy and arrogant manner.

I have said this before and I'll say it again: if someone in their official capacity representing, say, the American Red Cross, behaved towards the public in this fashion as Cheryl does here, would you be inclined to support that organization in any way, shape or form?  I can tell you unequivocally that the public would be in an uproar at being treated in such a cavalier manner, and take their money elsewhere to a charity whose representatives don't act like schoolyard bullies when people ask direct questions of them. Such representatives would actually be delighted to field any and all questions about their charity and would not resort to such tactics as deleting or ignoring questions, blocking people from further commenting and making threats towards them.

Suffice it to say that Cheryl Hanna and others, especially Lisa Drahorad, are casting AC4h and their leader Christy in a very unflattering light, and as a matter of fact, are causing irreparable damage to AC4h's reputation by their very actions. But then again, their greed and callousness trumps everything else; frankly, my dear, they don't give a damn about how they make the organization look.  Period.

    Mary Gellar
This is one of the broker horses apparently being offered. Look at the condition of this poor horse, nothing but skin and bones.... why in God's name would ANYONE be allowed to ride the horse in this horrible condition??? How frigging cruel !!

Nancy Creighton AND they want $350 for the poor thing--they wouldn't even THINK of rescuing this horse themselves and getting it to a good home would they?
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:36pm · 1

Mary Gellar of course not -- this one won't sell for $5,000
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:37pm · 2

Cheryl Gould Mouyos That one is on the website now? thats terrible.. I know they have defended that by saying that that a few minutes of riding in that condition helps get her a home vs. not riding and end up shipping. I dont like it though...
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:37pm

Mary Gellar sorry, that's cruel and inhame. either someone is going to offer the horse a home or not, they don't need to ride it in that condition
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:38pm

Mary Gellar remarks were made elsewhere about the rider's weight -- I'm not even going there ... I don't even think Julie Krone should be on this horse !!
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:39pm

Nancy Creighton Well, we've seen them make a horse with a bone coming thru the bottom of the hoof walk on cement (but she was only a "little lame, just needs a trim"), so why not ride this one?
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:39pm · 2

Mary Gellar yeah, Nancy, I'm sure that convinced a lot of people to buy the horse, didn't it???
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:40pm

Cheryl Gould Mouyos 350 + S&H (as I call it) ,.is a *lot* of money....
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:40pm

    Mary Gellar sure is

  • November 16, 2011 at 6:44pm · 2

    Kelly Hanahan Nope!

Nancy Creighton No idea - wearing blinders I guess
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:47pm

Mary Gellar Who knows? I just hope this horse lives long enough to make it a good home.... and arrives safely
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:48pm · 1

Mary Gellar make it *to a good home....
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:48pm

    Kelly Hanahan AMEN!
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:48pm

Jackie Hackett They're a "rescue" and I'm the flying nun. They should change their name to "Jack the shipper" equine disposal.
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:54pm · 5

    Mary Gellar LOL Jackie
  • November 16, 2011 at 6:55pm

Alicia 'Ridler' Geske Unreal cruel. And sometimes people ask me why I spend most of my time with children (my Preschool class) & my animals. There are just so many people that suck.
  • November 16, 2011 at 7:53pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna Because it gives the horse a chance to get a home when someone sees that he can be ridden. Do you actually think that being loaded onto a slaughter truck and being processed in a slaughter plant is the better choice? Geesh people - after all these years can you please step away from the drama?
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:31pm

Mary Gellar Cheryl, when the people see the picture right NEXT to this one, all the GOOD that you think this picture does in my opinion is UNDONE!!! Yes, I hope this horse find a great home where he WON'T be ridden !!!
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:32pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna The rider is on the horse for 5 minutes. Try not to be the dramallamas ladies. It really is unbecoming.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:32pm

Mary Gellar And if there had NOT been a rider on him, there would have been no comments !!
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:32pm

    Mary Gellar 5 minutes, 5 seconds .... doesn't matter
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:33pm · 2

--->Cheryl Hanna The horse is less likely to find a home if it can't be seen being ridden. Sorry been thru all of this for years and already know that a few minutes on a horse's back and showing that he can be ridden is worth far more than just saying it. From experience and actually speaking to people who have purchased these horses, I know it is true.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:35pm

Mary Gellar Cheryl, would you REALLY advocate people riding that fucking horse???
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:36pm · 2

--->Cheryl Hanna Just tell me the alternative as he gets loaded in a truck heading for Canada or Mexico and then gets a bolt thru his head??? That's a better choice than 5 minutes with someone on his back??? Sorry been thru all of this drama for years and personally have seen horses get homes because people actually see the horse is ridable.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:37pm

  • --->Cheryl Hanna I advocate helping horses Mary as I have for the last 10 years.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:38pm

Mary Gellar Cheryl, you didn't answer me.... how in God's name in GOOD CONSCIENCE can ANYONE offer this horse as a RIDING HORSE???? What kind of fraud is that??? I'd rather see someone buy it and HUMANELY EUTHANISE IT !!
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:38pm · 2

Mary Gellar If you saw a riding school that let people ride on a horse like this, I'll bet you anything you'd writing a scathing article about it in the Examiner !!
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:39pm · 5

Mary Gellar And euthanize DOES have a Z in it !!
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:39pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna Fraud? Oh puhleese! The horse knows how to accept a rider Marie. Plain and simple! I have a gorgeous paint who would buck you off the moment you mounted him. Let's see - who is more adoptable??
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:40pm

--->Cheryl Hanna I know the difference between drama and people actually helping Marie. And 5 minutes to show a horse is rideable is worth it to keep him safe. BTW are you referring to the horse with lordosis?
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:41pm

  • Nancy Creighton Jut ignore her Marie--we all know she's one of Shady's major supporters and sees NOTHING wrong with anything that goes on with AC4H or Shady
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:41pm · 1

Mary Gellar This is not a horse I would EVER want to see a person ride.... so by POSTING him with a rider, you're leading people to BELIEVE he's rideable. cheryl, LOOK AT HIM. He's skin and bones
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:41pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna Right Stehanie - Someone doesn't buy into your drama - then they must be one of Christy's followers.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:42pm

Mary Gellar I'm done... I have my own opinions, which I will post ON MY OWN WALL and she's entitled to hers.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:42pm

Nancy Creighton This is Mary's page and she is entitled to her opinion and what you post is not going to change her mind
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:43pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna I am assuming you are referring to the lordosis horse. Read up on it and learn about it first before trying to tell me something I don't know.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:43pm

Jackie Hackett What I think is really unbecoming is to try and "SELL" yes "SELL" this horse as a rideable horse when he is not. So 5 minutes on his back to misrepresent him, insuring he will get into the wrong home, with the wrong job, and probably dumped back at auction - you're right - that's MUCH better. what a joke.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:43pm · 4

    Sarahjoy Crain Poor thing.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:44pm

Mary Gellar And I'd LOVE to knwo what his papers say is his REAL age by the way
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:44pm

--->Cheryl Hanna No problems Nancy. I can voice my opinion too and don't have to agree with you, yet you found it necessary to make a disparaging remark.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:44pm

--->Cheryl Hanna Doesn't make me change my mind either.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:44pm

Nancy Creighton Cheryl, we KNOW you are one of Shady's supporters--doesn't matter if you "buy into my drama" or not
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:46pm · 1

Jackie Hackett haha. And dramallamas is not a disparaging remark? Since when is TRUTH drama?
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:46pm · 3

Mary Gellar I would like to see the TRUTH posted about this horse's age....
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:47pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna Ok Jackie - you'll feel better when he disappears off the site and gets sent to slaughter. That's a birth defect the horse has - but hey - wouldn't want to confuse you with facts. Your team has been going on with the same agenda for how long now? Seems if things were as you consistently report, Christy would at least have one formal complaint by now???? One?????
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:47pm

Mary Gellar your team?? Jackie you have a team and didn't invite me???
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:47pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna You are all about drama - you have no idea about the horse. That is a birth defect or haven't you figured that out yet?
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:48pm

Mary Gellar cheryl, is being a bag of bones a BIRTH DEFECT???
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:48pm

Jackie Hackett my TEAM? Geez, I didnt realize I had a team. And I know full well what the horse has - so don't you dare condescend to me. and I want a horse sent to slaughter - get your facts straight - seriously.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:48pm · 2

Nancy Creighton Yeah, so what's wrong with the withers too?
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:49pm

Nancy Creighton Jackie, what's the name of your team? Can I join?

  • Where is the original of this photo posted, so more action can be taken?
  • And Jackie, count me in. Linebacker, even.
    November 16, 2011 at 8:49pm · 2

Nancy Creighton It's not about the horse...it's about protecting Shady
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:49pm · 1

Jackie Hackett Wait, I have to think one up - Hey, maybe Dramallamas would be good, since band of thieves is already taken.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:49pm · 4

Mary Gellar Lisa, it's an ac4h horse.... surprised?
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:50pm

Kristin Squires how is a BCS of 1 a birth defect??? Every bone is VISIBLE!! And, IF he has a birth defect, then he surely shouldn't be advertised as a riding horse, as poor body condition and weak muscles from starvation can be fixed with groceries. You are making Marie's point, claiming this horse has a birth defect (and one could assume therefor unfixable)
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:50pm · 3

Mary Gellar He has a horrible sway back if you look at their website you'll see the other pictures. Wait, I'll just post one on my wall so you get the idea....

SharonMarie Miller the rider doesn't look as though to many meals were missed!
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:51pm · 3

Lisa Michele Rudy Who in the HELL would have the arrogance, stupidity, CRUELTY, blatant disregard for any living thing to ask this animal to carry ANYone, let alone someone clearly overweight? That poor horse needs every little calorie it can reserve just to EXIST. And some ignorant moneyhungry excuse for a human being facilitates -this- to be done.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:52pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Who is this dipshit "Cheryl Hanna" anyway? Good christ, I consider the Hanna family in central Ohio (yes, THAT family) to be dear friends, even though it's been years since we spent any time together. I hope to high heaven this Cheryl creature is of no relation whatsoever.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:54pm

Mary Gellar Lisa, I just tagged you in one of the other pictures of him.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:54pm

  • --->Cheryl Hanna Just look up Lordosis and try to figure it out a bit. Yes, the horse could use some weight but you don't see the advantage of a horse knowing how to accept a rider? Then that's truly your opinion. It is drama. Why not support who you want because all of your "campaigns" and "threats" and "investigations" have been bogus threats and obviously after 8 years most of us just take it as hurting the horses and not being productive. Carry on ladies - as usual the bitchfest never materializes into anything more than your drama. And as far as the latest rage about "arrogance' - not even a clue that any of you have as to the lordosis condition.
  • November 16, 2011 at 8:54pm

Mary Gellar she's a friend of christy's and writes for the examiner

  • November 16, 2011 at 8:56pm

Nancy Creighton Hey, you know its gonna be OUR fault the horse goes to slaughter now, you know---we now all ADVOCATE HORSE SLAUGHTER--but a 'RESCUE' (AC4H) wouldn't think about taking in this horse AT ALL--no, gotta get that $$$$. ANd hey, where's that animal abuser Sally Schrock--didn't she instigate this??? LOL

Kristin Squires a horse in that condition doesn't have the energy to fight. Far from proof of being broke.

Jackie Hackett It is terribly sad Mary. The horse deserves better. And I hope he gets it. I really do.

  • November 16, 2011 at 9:04pm

  • Lisa Michele Rudy Gee, where did Cheryl run off to?
  • They have the audacity to put an adoption fee on him to ensure they have a reason to say, "Oh well, he didn't sell, so he goes to slaughter." This is what AC4H calls "rescue"? I'm very eager to chat with the IRS very soon.

  • November 16, 2011 at 9:09pm · 2

Kari Kidd I never have understood their theory on sending the horses to the meat man if they are rescuing? Shouldnt the horse be placed at all costs. This poor fellow is just an example of the lack of compassion and sense in that camp. They themselves have proved it multiple times what their motives are. They don't need any others to vouch for their underhanded dealings. This horse is a pasture pet..period. No human should ever be on his back again.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:10pm · 1

Kristin Squires interesting that she would choose to attack MY level of education (or lack thereof), when she seems to have an issue with spelling, syntax, and tense. Yet she gets paid to write? Why am I not surprised
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:11pm · 1

  • Mary Gellar Kari, I completely agree. And they CLAIM to have a rescue. So why don't they take this horse INTO their rescue. They have room for one they're trying to sell for $5,000 so I would HOPE they could squeeze this one in

  • November 16, 2011 at 9:12pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Ah there she is... she knows she's wrong, and that this is an action of abuse. This is the epitome of arrogance, ignorance, and greed. She pulled the same nonsensical garbage with other so-called "rescues", and hasn't a lick of sense in her bleached head.
  • Given her journalistic skills, I'm sure "head" has much to do with how she stays employed.

Kari Kidd Why would comments be deleted? Oh yeah thats right thats how THEY handle bad PR over there..make it disappear. When they show the public that money isnt their motivation and that the horses welfare is then I would be happy to contribute. Look at Frog Pond Farm..you do not see them dangling a horse out there that def needs a HOME NOW with a price tag attached to his life expectancy. It is just deplorable.

  • November 16, 2011 at 9:20pm

Mary Gellar Kari, this is MY wall where I can express any opinion I like. It's very simple, if people don't want to read it, go away for all I care. But if I see something which I feel is wrong, I'm not going to shut my mouth about it. And I will never unfriend anyone who posts out for this wacko group, for camelot or any of the other auction houses or "rescues" I don't agree with. But to me this is plain WRONG to mislead the public that this is a RIDEABLE horse when he should be a pasture pet. And when someone BUYS him as a rideable horse and he's NOT, where do you think the horse will end up then???
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:22pm · 4

Jackie Hackett Agree Mary. Same here. And for the record, I don't support them either, but I have no issue with anyone who does. To each their own. I base my opinion on them on my own personal experience, and nothing more. Period. I do hope this horse gets a home where he will be loved.

Lisa Michele Rudy Very well-said, Mary, and you're right on the money.
  • Cheryl, on the other hand, is representing the epitome of greed, arrogance, ignorance and pride. Her goal appears to be to keep her own ego inflated by attempting to defend AC4H at every turn... and I would be willing to bet a hefty sum that she will continue to do so even as the group goes down in flames. Sadly, that is also her only conern - "preserve the group, so she can preserve her identity," and living breathing animals who would give their lives to help a human will do exactly that... be sacrificed as a result of human greed. And Cheryl Hanna, her husband, and the excuses for humans at AC4H will have blood on their hands and souls.

Nancy Creighton No, he'll "disappear" - would be nice if for ONCE AC4H would SPEND some money and get this guy and find him a good home if they can't take him in at the AC4H "rescue" - I'm sure the Amish owner won't give him away (or Moore if he bought him), gotta wring the last few cents out of the old boy
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:29pm

--->Cheryl Hanna And I'm supposed to be scared of a lawyer? Surely Kristen that can't be you! As far as arrogance, that's your opinion and as to clicks on Examiner- please do me a favor and don't read what I write. Your "clicks" aren't going to make a differnce to my livelihood or my popularity. Now as much as a pitbull as I am, and I advocate for those dogs too - this is nothing but the usual insults so expected when someone doesn't agree with you or dares to have a different opinion. Then it's "she's a bully, she's a kool-ade drinker," one of Christy's followers - blah, blah, blah. So far all the Joe Renners, Sally Skanks, and God knows the threats and insults have never amounted to more than blah, blah, blah. Have your opinions - that's all fair and expected, but now that a few of you find it necessary to stoop to your usual low insults - no reason to continue. You can obviously say whatever you want on your wall Mary - but I get to choose what and who I read. Have a nice evening.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:29pm

Kari Kidd this is the reply from Christy about my sway back comment.Christy Sheidy>> No not a sway back lordoisis . please inform yourself with google. WHUT?????
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:29pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Sadly Mary, you're right... Cheryl and her selfish associates will use this conversation as an excuse to send him to slaughter. Just watch. That poor horse will never know the kindness of care, the tenderness of love, or the grace of a soft warm home and a meal to safely enjoy. Nancy is exaclty right... they'll "disappear" him, and Cheryl and her hubby will continue to be a part of the conspiracy to line pockets with funds dripping in the blood of torture and death.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:30pm · 1

Lisa Michele Rudy Your writing, Cheryl, is laughable. But by all means, keep flattering yourself and your sleazy ego.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:32pm · 1

Mary Gellar cheryl, I actually do read your articles in the Examiner and I fight my own battles and even if no one else had come here and commented, I would STILL have my own opinion about anyone riding this horse. And I notice that you STILL have not answered my question about how old he is????? I mean let's get the truth out here on the table, how about it?
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:32pm

--->Cheryl Hanna Lisa - You are an idiot!
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:33pm

--->Cheryl Hanna I do not know how old the horse is Mary.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:33pm

Lisa Michele Rudy She hasn't got a clue... and like Stephanie Hanchett, will evade any direct question. Once again, we have a "writing savant" with delusions of grandeur, psychopathic tendencies, and the ethics of a piranha.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:34pm · 1

Kari Kidd Why?? can you answer why this obviously sick emaciated animal is being SOLD?? He cant be higher than a 3 right now. He should be massive at his height. Not have a rib showing and withers protruding and tailbone poking up caved in buttocks muscles..he is sick. He should be brought back up to good health then offered for adoption
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:34pm · 1

Mary Geller Can you please find out? There are supposedly papers with him. Cheryl, believe me, if I could afford to keep him on a farm somewhere I would get him the hell out of there in a heartbeat and just let him veg out the rest of his life
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:35pm · 1

Lisa Michele Rudy Please, by all means, resort to namecalling. Hmm... isn't that exactly what you claimed as the reason for your departure earlier?
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:35pm

Nancy Creighton I have friends who post for AC4H and I won't delete them either, because I know they believe they are helping the horses and they have good hearts...and they don't attack anyone else's opinions and they haven't unfriended me for my opinion of AC4H. I have just made up my own mind also, like Jackie, that I cannot support or condone what I see happening (along with VFH--where I asked a question about a horse I fell in love with-simply where was he, did he have a good home- and was blocked) but I'm not going to judge those friends who believe in what they are doing.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:36pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna LOl Lisa - when you finally managed to get your high school diploma, did you get a degree in psychology too? Please go back on this thread and check so you can see how you started the insults you fool.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:37pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Mary, that would be phenomenal... and the saddest thing is, while this horse's life would be saved, the funds would go to perpetuating the fraudulent business practices carried out by AC4H and their ankle-biting guard fleas. Please advise if you need a hand with this horse... he does need desperately to be saved - just as desperately as AC4H needs to be dissolved.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:38pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Cheryl, if you need to play namecalling games, take it to my mail.
  • Meanwhile, I have no problem refuting your self-inflated egotistical claims here. There is no question in anyone's mind that nearly every driveling word from your fingertips is an untruth, and has been since the very first communication you uttered. You defend an organization that you know damn well is fraudulent, that contributes to their abuse, and is directly responsible for re-sending them to slaughter. You KNOW this, yet you continue to behave as you do. Justify that.
    November 16, 2011 at 9:41pm · 1

  • --->Cheryl Hanna One thing Mary you have not responded to at all and that is - have you ever seen Lordosis in a horse?
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:41pm

Kari Kidd I wont delete or block anyone associating with AC4H either. But I am pretty sure I will be blocked after this debate. Oh well it takes the good hearted being burned before they realise what they have actually been supporting ALL ALONG
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:42pm

Kristin Squires the vast majority of the insults, and nastiness is coming from YOU, Ms. Hanna.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:42pm

Mary Gellar Cheryl, I have not but I understand that a horse can be ridden in that condition. HOWEVER, that is NOT what my main problems is..... it is with the fact that he's skin and BONES !!!!
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:43pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna Yeah right Lisa - as if your ignorant opinion and name calling would even get you a seat in the ball park. Go away you pathetic loser.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:43pm

Kari Kidd I have a mare with Lordosis (sway back) and this boy isnt an extreme case but he is a sway back..not ridable..not with a clear conscience anyway
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:43pm · 1

  • Lisa Michele Rudy We have ALL seen lordosis in horses, Cheryl. Do you understand what constitutes a healthy horse? A horse can be healthy even with severe lordosis. This is NOT an example of such an animal, and riding such an animal is EXPRESSLY disindicated. Can you comprehend that?
  • Do youhave ANY idea how to assess the health of a horse, Cheryl?
    November 16, 2011 at 9:43pm

  • Nancy Creighton Enough about the Lordosis...the horse needs to gain weight before ANYone should be riding him...IF he gets a home I would hope that is what would happen, he would be fed and allowed to gain weight and strength first. A lightweight rider would probably be fine IF he's allowed to get well first
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:44pm · 1

Lisa Michele Rudy Shooing me away isn't going to work, Cheryl, but it is pleasant to see you getting uncomfortable. As I said, take personal insults to my mail.
  • Back to the topic at hand, Cheryl...
    November 16, 2011 at 9:45pm

--->Cheryl Hanna There is a significant difference between a sway back and Lordosis. Lisa - your opinions are of no consequence to me because you resorted to immature name calling and insults. As far as I am concerned your opinions don't count.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:45pm

Kari Kidd He has swollen knees and is over in his right knee indicating that his hoof has some issue..he walks on his toes on his hind end and has his ears back the entire ride..he isnt happy at all
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:45pm

--->Cheryl Hanna Nothing about you Lisa makes me uncomfortable. Don't flatter yourself.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:45pm

Kari Kidd maybe a child riding him later but not this individual from the pic
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:47pm

  • --->Cheryl Hanna Whether the horse is skinny is not the issue here. He obviously needs a home, but 5 minutes isn't going to hurt him and actually in the big picture if he is shown to be rideable it will help him.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:47pm

  • --->Cheryl Hanna It's 5 minutes Kari. It will take longer for the horse to die a horrible death with a captive bolt.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:48pm

Mary Gellar Yes it IS the issue here ... or at least that's what it started OUT TO BE !!!
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:48pm · 1

Mary Gellar OH Cheryl, please stop with the captive bolt. We all know where these horses are going
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:49pm · 1

Lisa Michele Rudy Once again, Cheryl, you have been asked a very direct question, which you continue to be unable to answer.
  • Again. Can you comprehend that this horse is in extremely poor condition, should NOT be ridden, and is in dire need of care? Do you have any idea how to assess the health or condition of a horse? By all means, just acknowledge that you cannot... we would be glad to educate you, so that perhaps - just perhaps - you might be able to make a positive impact on one of these animals, instead of continuing to contribute to the abuse, neglect and torture that is utterly counter to the function of ANY organization which calls itself a "rescue."
    November 16, 2011 at 9:49pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna Since you all have the answers, then one of you take him in and give him a wonderful retirement. I'll even contribute as I have done and continue to do for many horses - even some thru other rescues I support.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:49pm

Nancy Creighton He does look like a sweet boy--would probably make a very nice therapy horse for kids--and between those withers and that rump, you don't need a saddle - keep you in there nice and comfy
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:49pm · 1

Nancy Creighton He's a very proud looking horse which makes this situation even sadder
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:50pm

Mary Gellar And if we can find a place to keep him, Cheryl, don't worry, I'll come to you looking for that donation !
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:50pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna Oh Lisa - do you really think after all of your inane remarks that I am going to have any kind of conversation with you?
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:50pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Once again, Cheryl, you have been asked a very direct question, which you continue to be unable to answer.
  • Again. Can you comprehend that this horse is in extremely poor condition, should NOT be ridden, and is in dire need of care? Do you have any idea how to assess the health or condition of a horse?
  • Apparently the answer to both of those questions is a resounding "No."
    November 16, 2011 at 9:52pm

--->Cheryl Hanna You email me Mary when you have a place. I hope he finds a home too.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:52pm

Jackie Hackett I think the one thing we can all agree on - ok maybe it's 2 things - 1) the horse deserves a loving home, and 2) we'd all be willing to kick in a little to help him.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:53pm

Mary Gellar yes this is true
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:53pm

    --->Cheryl Hanna Absolutely Jackie!
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:53pm

    Lisa Michele Rudy Absolutely.

  • November 16, 2011 at 9:54pm · 2

Jackie Hackett So - let's all put out some feelers for a good home for this guy. What do you all say? can we lay down the swords and help this guy out?
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:54pm

Mary Gellar I certainly hope so
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:55pm

--->Cheryl Hanna So why doesn't everyone ( and I will too) retreat to neutral corners and stop tossing insults and try to figure out something for this boy? Just saying!
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:55pm · 1

    Jackie Hackett Agreed Cheryl.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:55pm

Kristen Lunde- Ross they "rode" the mini mare with buckskinn baby my frined got suckered into taking. She must have been sedated, she is a PSYCHO! the baby was born on the lot and NEVER EVER touched. My por friend has her hands STILL full.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:55pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Spectacular, Cheryl... so glad you can be on board. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a long period of learning for you, and you will carefully reconsider your criteria for dealing with 'rescue' organizations. When you are ready to do some reading, I will be glad to loan you any number of veterinary texts.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:56pm

Mary Gellar Pitbull, learn to ignore certain things, you'll live longer
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:56pm

  • Kristen Lunde- Ross I can't and will not contribute to Christy or Brian the broker. If anything go to new holland and get 10 of them saved for hte price of 1 of these
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:56pm · 1

Nancy Creighton I would help too but would want to see updates on this horse
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:57pm

Kristen Lunde- Ross and as far as the kids "weight" that was uncalled for. GOD BLESS that kid getting on all these "strange" horses every week! I do not agree with what they do but she is a trooper
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:57pm

--->Cheryl Hanna Lisa - we just agreed to lay down the weapons. Why are you still instigating? I don't need a "long period of learning" and definitely not from you.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:57pm

Jackie Hackett I'm blowing my whistle. TIME! Everyone go to your corners and let's see if we can come up with a home for this guy. Whomever wants to help can, and if you don't, completely fine.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:58pm · 3

    Mary Gellar agreed, jackie
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:59pm

Cheryl Hoffarth I thought I read in another post that he has a home, they are just "fundraising" now.
  • November 16, 2011 at 9:59pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Now now, Cheryl...I offered you access to my library. It would be exceptionally helpful to you, especially in place of lack of hands-on experience. If you choose to continue assisting in rescue work, you would find that knowledge to be most useful in being proactive.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:00pm

Mary Gellar cheryl, could you let me know for sure please? thanks
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:00pm

Jackie Hackett Cheryl Hoffarth can you confirm that? That would be awesome if true.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:00pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Cheryl Hoffarth - hopefully that is true, and would be good news. Do you have a link?
  • As Stephanie mentioned, seeing progression photos of this guy would be most appreciated. That kind of effort does wonders for an organizations reputation.
    November 16, 2011 at 10:01pm

--->Cheryl Hanna Lisa - you really need to shut up. I have been working with horses for years. Your knowledge as I perceive it is useless.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:01pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Cheryl. Sword down. Corner.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:02pm

  • --->Cheryl Hanna I would strongly suggest you heed your own advice Lisa.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:03pm

Jackie Hackett One thing I know for CERTAIN is that if something needs done, the raucous bitches on this thread will see it DONE. No DOUBT in my mind. and BTW I'm proud to be a raucous bitch, so no insults intended

Lisa Michele Rudy **laugh** CHeers, Jackie!
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:03pm · 1

Kristen Lunde- Ross home doesn not mean he won't ship....there were a few last month that had "homes" until they are OFF the loit nothing is carved in stone.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:04pm · 1

--->Cheryl Hanna I don't care if people have different opinions. I don't even care if people dont agree with the broker program. Nothing's a given around here, but it still can be civilized and we can be decent to each other.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:05pm · 1

  • Lisa Michele Rudy Sickeningly, Kristen's right.... perhaps when this particular guy is safe, Cheryl Hanna would endeavour to display her extensive knowledge in how those horses were assessed as to be better suiter for the killer buyers to whom they were sold.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:05pm

  • Lisa Michele Rudy That's exactly right, Cheryl... good job for pointing that out.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:06pm

  • Mary Gellar Oh and by the way, I see the old man from last week who suppposedly shipped is now available again. What the hell is going on?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:06pm

  • Jackie Hackett Really Mary?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:07pm

Nancy Creighton Me too Jackie...I'm not used to being so bitchy, but if it gets something done then bitchy I'll be I'm in good company
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:07pm

Mary Gellar Yup, he's the last horse in the album. See, to me this is where I have a problem. Too many games are played
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:07pm

  • Nancy Creighton So what's the game plan?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:08pm

  • Lisa Michele Rudy Oh no.... so, how many times was that horse used as a golden egg, and, where is he -really-? A home? A bottle of Elmer's? Alpo?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:08pm

Mary Gellar I don't know. All of a sudden he was gone and I was told he shipped. Well obviously not, how he's just back thinner than he was. I really fucking hate this.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:09pm

Jackie Hackett Can anyone get you an answer on him Mary?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:09pm

Mary Gellar What's the question? Where has he been? And I'm not sure I would believe anything I'm told anyway
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:10pm · 1

Mary Gellar maybe I should start a separate post on him LOL
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:10pm

--->Cheryl Hanna Instead of just making blatant statements, why don't you contact Christy or Lisa D and ask them? They are the ones who can help answer the questions. The sarcasm and nastiness is still overflowing here via Lisa Michele Rudy - if anyone needs additional info please message me and I will try to help. Otherwise I am totally tired of Lisa Michele Rudy and her ignorant remarks. I put my weapons down earlier but she just can't drink a cup of STFU to save her own life.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:11pm

  • No such thing as too much documentation.

  • November 16, 2011 at 10:12pm

Mary Gellar Cheryl, please let me know what the status of this guy is, okay?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:12pm

  • Nancy Creighton Is this the one you had someone check on Mary? See if she can find out now what is going on with him...maybe they brought him back because someone was interested in him...wasn't that said at one point?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:12pm

Mary Gellar I was originally told it was too late, he had shipped
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:13pm

Lisa Michele Rudy If Cheryl Hanna responds, we'll at least have a starting point to either confirm or refute.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:13pm

Mary Gellar Lisa, if she responds, do me a favor and don't start with her. I'd really like to know what the status is for this guy.
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:15pm

Nancy Creighton ???? I agree Marie...this is one of the reasons I so do not support AC4H--games and more games
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:15pm · 1

Lisa Michele Rudy Interesting, Mary... they may have gotten enough feedback about him shipping that it was worth reposting pics with a retraction. He may well HAVE shipped, and they're milking his photo for all they can, or, the entire claim was a ploy for more funds.
  • Given AC4H's track record, they need to be posting pics with a copy of the daily newspaper held close by.
    November 16, 2011 at 10:16pm · 1

Nancy Creighton Is Cheryl checking on this SB or the one from last week? Can she check on both?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:17pm

Nancy Creighton Is it a new photo Mary or a repost of one of the original photos?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:18pm

Mary Gellar Nancy, they're new pictures but there's no question it's the same horse. He's looking just as pitiful and filthy
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:18pm

Lisa Michele Rudy Mary, could you toss up a link? Or a new thread?
  • November 16, 2011 at 10:19pm

Nancy Creighton So now you're going to abandon helping us help this horse??? If you really want to help horses, you need to get a teflon coating and just ignore things and when the helping is done, then continue your battle. There's more than just Lisa on this post who want to help this horse

Cindy Stilson Shook ok, i'm going to make a comment and then everyone can attack me. if these horses belong to a broker and they have very little time, how could they take the time to get them into shape and then show them? isn't the idea of the rescue to get them out of that brokers hands? yes, i agree that it's like 'rescueing' a puppy from a pet store-it perpetuates the problem. but, if she didn't do this, wouldn't they all just go straight to kill? and, i have seen horses ridden in this shape before-i only see a photo , not a video, but, being that time is of the essence for this creature, as long as the girl isnt working him hard and long and is only on to show that he can ride, i see that as the lesser of 2 evils than hiding the horse and just shipping straight to the killers. this horse also has shipping fever. the crime lies in the bastard that owned this horse and didn't feed it. now my thoughts on her selling the horse for 5k. if no one adopted that horse, and she bought it-be it through the auction or the broker, why is she bad for selling it? many , many people have bought horses with the intent of working, breaking, breeding.. and then selling to make money. very few horses ever get a 'home for life'. that's the damnable misery of it. and , i'm just throwing how i see it. i am sure there have been some very questionable things going on, but a relative bought a pony like this at new h. the bastards put a few blankets , saddle and 3 kids on it so you couldn't see how skinny the poor thing was-he was shopping for me, and after i ended up paying top dollar for her-i had to have her teeth done, which had never been done in her life. the 12 year old pony, was really 34!

Mary Gellar Cindy, if someone is going to buy him, they're going to buy him whether this person rode him or NOT. People buy from camelot all the time .... do they buy because a rider is on them?? NO!!! And plus they originally listed this guy as 9 or 10.... Now I see they changed it to smoothmouth. I asked SEVERAL TIMES last night how old he REALLY was and did not get an answer. They HAVE his papers... why don't they POST THE TRUTH???? Maybe if they actually TRIED that once in awhile there would be less complaints.

Lisa Michele Rudy Feel free to use the page I linked above as a repository for posts or threads you think will get deleted from AC4H pages or whatnot... it's open.

Cindy Stilson Shook mary, smooth mouth is a very confusing statement. it can mean2 things: aged, or 12. i always believed it to mean 12. yes, i agree, post the papers-camelot won't do that either and i can't understand the reason behind that. but, i don't agree-people aren't going to buy a horse that they don't see ride, unless they are planning on using it to drive or for companion-most people are not able to train a horse to ride due to the time comitment it takes
